COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to be a continuation of art studio.
Students will review the art elements and emphasis will
be placed on the principles of design as they apply to
the production and appreciation of art work. Exposure
to a wide range of media with opportunity to develop technical
skills using: pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, pastel,
oil pastel, pen and ink, acrylic paint. Projects will
be introduced as students become familiar with artists,
styles, and periods: Realism, Impressionism, Expressionism,
Abstraction, Surrealism, etc. Projects will be developed
around the disciplines of art history, art production,
art criticism, and aesthetics.
