General
Information:
Doug Holt
has been an educator for 36 years. He has been an elementary
and middle school teacher, resource teacher, high school vice
principal, elementary school principal, district personnel specialist,
and most recently retired from the Hawaii Department of Education
where he served as an educational specialist in the Federal
programs section for Title I.
Doug is
married to the consummate educator, Linda Holt who is a reading
specialist at Haiku School. The Holts have been married
for 34 years and have one son, Keone, who is an engineer with
the Honeywell Corporation in Seattle.
Areas of Responsibilities
* Works closely with staff and administration to develop a total
education program, which includes the coordination of K-12 curriculum,
technology integration and assessment. Monitors current school-wide
current school-wide curriculum to ensure consistency with entire
school curriculum.
* Creates and maintains all curricular guides. Ensures curriculum
is disseminated and implemented consistently and appropriately
at all school levels throughout KSMC.
* Under the direction of Headmaster, and in collaboration with
the principals, analyzes assessment results across grades K-12.
Identifies and recommends areas for improvement from teacher discussions,
test data and student observations.
* Works in collaboration with KSMC leadership team to design and
implement appropriate staff development and In-Service Training
workshops and activities, including instructional technology.
* Develops and directs KSMC summer programs and based upon appropriate
needs-assessment
