DASH in Science

DASH (Developmental Approaches to Science, Health and Technology) is developed at the University of Hawaii, Manoa Laboratory School through Curriculum, Research and Development Group to teach Science. DASH is a hands-on, inquiry based curriculum interfaced with the Constructivist philosophy allowing children time to hypothsize (wonder about something), experiment, invent, test, observe, test, problem solve, redesign, retest, record, data collect, classify, etc to make sense of the world around them and how find there place in it. Students take on the roles of different scientists as they do their work. Mrs. Kuba is the facilitator and every one learns from one another with the life experiences they bring to class.
