year 2004-2005. My main focus this year is language and I will try to
speak Hawaiian as much as possible

Besides Language and Culture I also teach the students hula (dance),
oli (chant), and
pule (prayer). He Kama Au is the first Oli that the students will learn
so that we can oli in the morning down in the courtyard before their
first class. The purpose for this is to prepare themselves for the day
ahead of them so that they can be in the right frame of mind to begin
the day.

GRADING POLICY
All students will be graded on compliance with school and class rules
of conduct and class participation. Grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 will be graded
on Hawaiian vocabulary quizzes and tests, as well as how well they were
able to memorize oli and pule.
