 Description of Position:
To teach a non-threatening, easy-going beginning Hawaiian language class for teachers and administrators of Kamehameha High School, Kapalama Campus. Classes are held once a week for a half-hour. Worksheets and sound files are also posted on the web to aid in studying pronunciation and grammar.

Hula Classes - Hälau Hula Kükalehuaika'ohu, Kumu Hula Mae Kamämalu Klein
 Description of Position:
Assist as a Hula Insturctor within Hälau Hula Kükalehuaika'ohu preparing students for 'Üniki. Most of the study is focused on the kahiko styling, where both chant and dance is taught. Research items pertaining to the songs are also discussed to offer deeper meaning of songs to students.

 Description of Position:
Lecture on Hawaiian Wind and Rain names presented at the "Nä Lei Hulu I Ka Wëkiu" workshop held at Kamakaküokalani, center of Hawaiian Studies at the University of Manoa, on April 30, 2004. "Nä Lei Hulu I Ka Wëkiu" is a non-profit organization dedicated to the perpertuation of the Hawaiian culture through the hula, directed by Kumu Hula Patrick Makuakäne. The group resides in San Francisco.

Änuenue K-12 Hawaiian Immersion School
 Description of Position:
To teach music literacy and hula to Änuenue school students, grades K through 12, as research for Master's thesis. Concentration of study was given mostly to the lower elementary grades K through 2, and the middle school grades 7 and 8. After the first 2 1/2 months of school, the students were without a music teacher. I assumed the responsibilities of music teacher until the end of the school year.

 Description of Position:
To teach a beginning Hawaiian language class which consisted of diverse learners from the larger community. Classes were held once a week for 1-2 hours. Curriculum was gathered from various sources: Ka Lei Ha'aheo, Nä Kai 'Ewalu, and worksheets produced by Kamehameha Hawaiian Language Teachers.
