STATISTICS (Math 115)

Being enrolled in this class means that you have successfully completed up to Algebra 2. Congratulations!

Statistics is a dual credit course in which you may earn both high school and college credit. It is taught here on campus by Tom Beran, a lecturer from Maui Community College. Mr. Beran comes to my classroom 2 days a week for assistance and lectures. I am here everyday, giving guidance on the coursework he requires.

Class meets Monday through Friday for an entire semester. This course is one credit and grading is as follows:

A = 100% - 90%

B = 89% - 80%

C = 79% - 70%

D = 69% - 60%

F = 59% - 0%

Your grade is weighted: Homework (20%) and Quizzes (80%)

Homework assignments and quizzes are taken online. More details on the various types of work and their scheduled due dates are handed out at the start of the semester and available online via 'laulima'.

Attendance is crucial to success.

Mr. Beran covers statistical topics regarding data, sampling, tendencies, graphing, distribution, deviation, regression, probability, error, testing, etc.

Always come to class prepared and ready to go! Basic materials are: pencil, paper, calculator, ruler, completed or fully attempted assignment, laptop and an open mind!
