Hulili, the newest of the campus outreach programs, welcomed 130 middle and high students for the first time this past summer. These students were invited to participate in Hulili because they were interested in attending the traditional day program. Throughout the 4-week program, students learned about their Hawaiian heritage through huaka`i (field trips), distance learning, and various classes that included Hawaiian values through crafts & games and alapa nui (sports & games). They also worked on academic and transitional skills. Both Ka Lei and Hulili students have the opportunity to participate in outreach activities during the school year where they are welcomed back to campus.
