SPORTSMANSHIP EXPECTATIONS
We all represent Kamehameha Schools at an
athletic event. We ask that SPORTS be kept in its proper perspective.
At the end of the season, there will only will be one champion so
let us celebrate the journey and progress instead of focusing only
on the outcomes. Success is not measured by playing time or victories.
Maintaining the proper perspective about school sports will help
us in our quest for developing good and industrious young men and
women. Being Ha'aha`a and spreading aloha will show what is good
about our students, our school, and the community of Maui. We are
a K-12 environment and must role model the behavior we want to teach
our keiki.
Coaches and referees are
neighbors, co-workers, uncles, parents, aunts, volunteers, teachers,
and fellow community members. Lets not forget the tough job they
have to do in full public and the committment they make so that
the atheletes have a stage to perform.
Displaying good sportsmanship
will show the most positive things about you and the traditions
that Kamehameha Schools has established. We are unique that we are
creating the Maui chapter in the noble history of Kamehameha Schools.
Let’s make it a chapter we will all be proud of.
