Aloha Class of 2013 ‘Ohana
On Saturday, April 19, 2008, the Kamehameha
Schools Maui Campus’ Parent-Teacher-Student ‘Ohana
will host its 4th Annual Ho’olaule’a. This event
will run from 9am-2pm at the high school campus. All proceeds
from this event will support enrichment programs not funded
by Kamehameha Schools such as student educational workshops,
training, leadership program, cultural programs, academic
programs and student travel.
We are looking for parents to help
with the Ho’olaule’a in any way possible. This
year, grade seven will be responsible for the Pizza Booth,
however when signing up for a shift, you will be asked to
help where needed and will not necessarily be working for
your specific class. Remember, we are all working together
to make this event a successful one. We will need manpower
for:
• Bake Saturday, April 12th
from 6am – pau
• Prep Thursday, April 17th from 3pm – pau
• Prep Friday, April 18th from 3pm - pau
• Event Day, April 19th from 5:30am to 11am
• Event Day, April 19th from 10:30am to 4pm
If you are unable to volunteer, we
are also looking for the following food donation items:
• brown sugar, all purpose flour,
sugar, forks, rice
Drop off dates and locations will be announced at a later
time.
To participate in preparing and selling food at the Ho’olaule’a,
we are required to take a Food Training Class. This class
is an hour of instruction and about 10-15 minutes for test
taking. Certification is good for the duration of time that
the student is at the respective campus. The next Food Training
Class will be held on Wednesday, March 12th, 6:15pm at Namahana.
You must register for this class by contacting Lokelani at
573-3203, kpatric@ksbe.edu. For the 2007-2008 school year,
parents are qualified to work if they received training after
January 1, 2006. Call us if you have any questions.
Through the generosity of Ke Ali’i
Pauahi, our children are able to take advantage of this wonderful
educational opportunity. This is a perfect chance to get involved,
meet other KS parents and give back to our School.
Mahalo for you support!
