Full Board: Every grade is represented by two elected parents to represent the grade level at the KSM PTSO. The PTSO Board is comprised of 26 representatives, 2 parents for grades K-12; and 5officers, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Assistant Treasurer. The Board meets once a month. Tanya Lopes is the President of the 2008-2009 PTSO Board.

Campus Council: The representatives at each division meet as a Campus Council and there is a separate Council for each school: Elementary Campus Council, Middle School Campus Council, and High School Campus Council. The Campus Council meetings are usually held once a quarter or as needed and are attended by the Campus Principal and 2 Teacher Representatives.

Grade level representatives and officers will contact you with information about the 2008-2009 year events and activities. Scholastic Book Fair, Socials, Movie Nights, are regular events that have been scheduled in the past.

The PTSO provides the manpower for the Annual Ho'olaule'a. Each grade level is responsible for a specific area of the event. The grade level Ho'olaule'a Chairs inform, and recruit, the parents necessary to implement the assigned grade level task. Ho'olaule'a 2009 will be held on April 18, 2009, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

A Ho'olaule'a Kick Off Meeting is held in the Fall and monthly meetings are held to inform and equip the parent chairpersons to successfully fulfill the grade level kuleana.

Food Training: Upon entering the school, parents are expected to attend a one-hour Food Handling class. Completion of this class is a requirement of KSM parents to handle food. The class is required each time your student enters a new campus. So, if your student enters at grade K, you are expected to take the class as a Kindergarten parent, as a Gr. 6 parent, and as a Gr. 9 parent. For those parents coming in at other years, you are also expected to take the class upon entering the school and to re-take the class when your student moves to another campus.

Classes are conducted at Namahana Dining Hall. 6:15 - 8:00 PM

Thursday, Sept. 11; Wed, Oct. 15; Thursday Nov. 6; and Friday, Feb. 6.
